Mario Mandzukic look set to join Atletico Madrid after the La Liga champions after agreeing a few for the forward with current side Bayern Munich. The big Croatians soon-to-be exit is due to the signing of Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund.
An unamed Premier League side, Juventus and Zenit St.Petersburg have made late bids to try and snatch the forward from the grasp of Atletico, however this attempt has failed as the Croatian looks set to ply his trade in the Spanish capital next season.
Atletico are looking to recruit the striker who scored 48 goals in 88 appearances for Bayern to replace Chelsea bound Diego Costa who has joined Chelsea from the La Liga champions for a fee of £32 million.
The side who play at the Vicente Calderon Stadium are looking to bring in another forward this summer and are said to be interested in Manchester City’s Alvaro Negredo and Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.
