Goalkeeper Willy Caballero is now one step closer to becoming a Chelsea Football Club player after passing a medical at the club, according to the Times.

The newspaper is claiming that Caballero has passed a medical at the club and agreed to the terms of the deal offered to him.

Caballero spent the majority of his City career as the back-up choice behind England international Joe Hart before the latter was sent out on loan to Serie A side Torino last summer.

The report says that the 35-year-old is going to be the second-choice goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge next season behind Thibaut Courtois.

This comes just after the reports said Caballero had agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions and he is set to be unveiled as the first signing of the summer on July 1.

The Argentinian will join as a free agent after it was announced that he is leaving Premier League rivals City when his contract expires at the end of the month even though he was a first team regular last season.
