He will leave the club following a 29-year stay

Ryan Giggs will leave Manchester United after agreeing a settlement package with the Old Trafford club.

The Welshman, who made a record 963 appearances for United as a player, will now look to move on to a new coaching career.

The 42-year old has passed all his coaching badges and has experienced the roles of manager, assistant manager and first team coach at his beloved Red Devils.

However, after winning huge amounts of silverware at the club as both a player and a coach, he feels it’s time for a new coaching challenge – preferably in the Premier League.

New United manager Jose Mourinho will fill the assistant manager void left by Giggs with his long-term friend Rui Faria.
