LIVE FROM EARTH-X: Cristiano Ronaldo scores record 800th career goal at Manchester United

He’s done it again! Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player in the history of the game to hit the 800 goal mark!

The Manchester United captain, found the net against a rigid Crystal Palace side to give Manchester United a slender 1-0 win!

He was assisted by none other than Wilfried Zaha who was untouchable on the wings for the Red Devils one more time. Zaha terrorized the Palace wingers after being brought on by David Moyes in the second half and was largely at credit for Ronaldo’s goal.

The win means United are back on top in the Premier League standings but they will know a challenge from Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal is still more than potent.

United have a 2 point lead at the top and will be hoping their captain CR7 will be able to see them through. Let us look at a few CR7 landmarks on his historic 800 goal mark day!

  • Goal 1: In 2002 vs Moreirense (Primeira Liga)
  • Goal 100: In 2008 vs Tottenham (Premier League)
  • Goal 500 In 2015 vs Barcelona (Champions’s League final win)

The United captain has had to watch the transition of his side post the Fergie-era but after being handed the captain’s armband back in 2013 and has taken up the goal-scoring responsibility of the club.

Despite losing one of the best managers in Sir Alex Ferguson, Ronaldo’s success has channeled into United winning 2 Premier League title, 2 FA Cups and 1 Champions League for Manchester United under David Moyes!

The legendary captain who has won 6 Ballon d’Ors is one ahead of his arch-rival Lionel Messi, the Real Madrid icon!
