10. Estadio Monumental

Location: Peru

Home Ground: Peru national team & Club Universitario de Deportes

Kick starting the list is the biggest football stadium in the whole of South America. The Estadio Monumental has a capacity of 80,093 making it the tenth biggest football stadium in the world. The stadium was opened in 2,00 as a replacement of the Estadio Teodoro Lolo Fernandez. It is Peru’s largest stadium and also the largest in South America.

It has played hosts to Peru national team’s matches,  FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and also hosted the final stages of the 2008 Copa Peru.

The Stade de France is the fifth largest stadium in Europe, located in Saint-Denis of France. Being a national stadium, the Stade de France hosts a lot of events annually. The 1998 FIFA World cup were hosted in this stadium, the UEFA Champions League finals in 2000 and 2006, Rugby World Cup in 1999 and 2007, the 2003 World Championships in Athletics and will also some matches of the UEFA Euro 2016. Many artists have had their acts performed in the Stade de France. It has a total capacity of 81,338 seats.

The Signal Iduna Park stadium, home of one of the best performing clubs in the Bundesliga (Borussia Dortmund) is an 83,000 seater stadium located in Dortmund of Germany. The initial name of the stadium was Westfalenstadion but was later renamed in 2005 to Signal Iduna Park under a sponsorship arrangement valid for 16 years.

The majors hosted in this stadium were the 1974 and 2006 FIFA World Cup as well as the 2001 UEFA Cup Final when Liverpool won the Cup after beating Deportivo Alaves of Spain.
