Liverpool target Adriano is planning on staying at Barcelona. The Reds are keen to recruit a new left-back ahead of the new Premier League season, with Jose Enrique still out injured.
Aly Cissokho has returned to parent club Valencia after his loan spell, leaving just 20-year old Jack Robinson to fill the gap. Brendan Rodgers was close to signing Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno last week but talks broke down. The Liverpool boss has now turned his attention to Adriano but it looks like he won’t be signed either.
The Reds are looking to add Champions League experience to their squad, with the club back in Europe after finishing second last season, and they believed they could get it from Adriano. However, the Brazilian plans on seeing out his deal at Barca as he said: “At the moment I am staying, but I know that there is interest from other clubs.
“I do have a contract until 2017 and until the president tells me something different I will continue. I am only thinking about Barca and really would like to stay.
“I want to talk to the coach and clear things up.”
