Sunderland sit bottom of the league, with West Ham the visitors on Saturday.

After being well documented in recent weeks  Dick Advocaat’s future now looks even more uncertain. It’s understood that the 68 year old will leave the club if they lose to high flying West Ham.

Last season, the now usual surviving act was obtained after Advocaat guided the Black cats to safety with back to back wins over Everton and Southampton and draws at Stoke and Arsenal. With his work seemingly done Dick decided to retire before being offered a 1 year deal at Sunderland which he duly accepted.

With the same problems returning this season and loses to teams including Norwich it looks like the Dutchman has finally had enough. This week Adovcaat took the squad out to dinner with a farewell feeling sensed by all those in attendance.

Last season it took the club until 4th October to record their first win, against Stoke at the Stadium of Light. Will this weekend hold a similar result for the club? West Ham have taken 3 points from: Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool, away this season. The Hammers league position reflects the success on the road as they currently sit 3rd.

Sean Dyche is linked with replacing the Dutchmen after guiding Burnley to the Premier League in the 2013-2014 season before seeing the Clarets relegated last season.
