The AFCON 2023 will, as I said, take place in Ivory Coast. This will only be the 2nd time that Ivory Coast will host the tournament. The last time they hosted was back in 1984. This year, 6 stadiums will host the tournament across five cities.

Alassane Ouattara Stadium

The Alassane Ouattara is one of the largest football stadiums in Ivory Coast. This stadium was expected to finish by the year 2020 and is a 60,000-seater stadium

This Stadium will host 1/4th of the tournament’s total group-stage matches.

Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium

This is the former home ground of the Ivory Coast National Team. It opened in 1964 and this will be the oldest stadium that will host matches during the African Cup of Nations and also the finals.

The lawn is of international standard and is maintained daily green and glowing.

Stade de la Paix

Like the Felix Houpouet Stadium, the Stade de la Paix will also host 8 matches. Burkina Faso will play several of their group games here.

Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium

The Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium was constructed recently in September 2023 and has a capacity of 20000 people. This Stadium will host 8 matches during the tournament including all of the Group-D matches. It’ll also host two last 16 matches.

Laurent Pokou Stadium

This stadium is situated at San PĂ©dro and will host 8 matches during the competition including several Morocco and Zambia’s group games. Like the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium, this stadium will also host two knockout matches- a last 16 game and a quarter-final.
