The forward will be given a rest

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will give Alexis Sanchez a mid-season break so that he won’t suffer from burnout.

The Chilean international is set to be left out of action in the next few weeks, as Wenger fears that the busy Christmas schedule will affect Sanchez’s performances and could even lead to injury.

The 26-year old didn’t have a proper summer break, as he was away with Chile playing in the Copa America. They eventually won the competition thanks to a cheeky penalty from Alexis himself.

Once the tournament was completed, Sanchez was supposed to have a few weeks rest; but he returned back to England early to start pre-season training at Arsenal.

A chance to recharge his batteries

Now Wenger is worried that so much football will catch up with one of his star men and the Frenchman can’t risk a serious injury to another top player.

The Gunners are already without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey and Hector Bellerin. Despite those absentees, they still remain joint-top of the Premier League.
