Antonio Conte has provided an injury update on Alvaro Morata ahead of Bournemouth clash
Morata gained a back injury in the lead-up to Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat of West Ham earlier on this month, However he played the full 90 minutes at the London Stadium before missing out on the trip to Huddersfield.
Asked about Morata’s fitness in the lead-up to the match, Conte said: ‘Yeah he’s okay. ‘He had this problem in his back before the game against West Ham and struggled a lot with this problem. ‘But I think he’s working really well, finding his best form. Tomorrow I want to give an opportunity, a chance, for [Michy] Batshuayi to shine.’
Conte confirmed that Charly Musonda will also miss the test against Eddie Howe’s side in the cup. ‘There is Musonda, he has a little muscular problem in his groin,’ he added.
‘Not just for today, but also for the game against Southampton. He’s out. ‘And then I think there’s no other injury worries.
