Conte says fatigue is the reason for Victor Moses red card in FA Cup final against Arsenal

Antonio Conte said in his post match comments, that Victor Moses’s dismissal was a “key moment”

The Blues loss to Arsenal in Saturday’s FA Cup final was a surprise to many, Alexis Sanchez opened the score sheet for the Gunners, with referee Anthony Taylor over-ruling an offside decision missing a handball from the Chilean in the process.

Diego Costa leveled for Chelsea after Victor Moses just picked up a second yellow card for diving in the box, then Aaron Ramsey headed home the winner three minutes later.

In further comments regarding the sending off, the Chelsea boss tried his best to come up with a reasonable explanation as to why Victor Moses dived in the box and leaving the referee with very little choice other than to give him a second yellow card.

Speaking to SkySports, Antonio Conte had this to say

“There is a lot of tension in these moments and sometimes you could be tired. I don’t think if my player dived he did it with a real intention of doing it. We have arrived at the end of the season and many players are tired, and then there is a lot of pressure.”

“It’s not a good situation to dive, for sure, but Moses is an honest player and if he did this it’s only because he was tired. He didn’t want to cheat the referee.”

I think Conte has already forgiven him.
