The Blues boss has warned Chelsea’s young stars they will have to earn their place, and it won’t be easy.
Chelsea had five academy stars on the bench for their 3-0 win against Leicester an and it was Nathaniel Chalobah and Ola Aina that were given opportunities later in the game.
However, Conte is keen to keep them grounded and has told the youngsters it won’t be easy for them to keep getting games in the seniors.
“People who know me will know I don’t gift a place to anyone,” he told the Evening Standard.
“Only those who deserve to play will play for me. It is important for Chalobah and Aina to understand this.
“When I have called Chalobah he has always answered me in a positive way. If they are ready I will put them in.
“In the future they can play from the start. Age is not important. I made my first appearance in Serie A at only 16.”
