Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier, as their hunt for a right-back continues.
The Gunners are only left with Carl Jenkinson at the Emirates as a recognised right-back, and with a few names being linked, it looks like Aurier is Arsene Wenger’s number-one target.
Everton’s Seamus Coleman was heavily linked, but Wenger wanted to go for a cheaper, more realistic option, and after being impressed by his performances in Ligue 1, the Frenchman was keen to make Aurier Bacary Sagna’s replacement.
The French defender left the club on a free after his contract expired, and chose to join rivals Manchester City.
According to reports in France, an ÂŁ8million deal has been accepted and Arsenal have offered the right-back ÂŁ60,000-a-week on a five-year deal.
Aurier can also play down the wing and also in the holding-midfield role.
