Romulo was linked with a move to the Emirates during the summer but a deal never materialised as it was believed the club decided to look elsewhere.
But reports in Brazil have now claimed that the defensive midfielder is close to completing a move to Arsenal and talks are in advanced stages.
It has also been claimed that the Gunners are looking to have the deal wrapped up by Monday and the 24 year-old will likely reject any offers from clubs in his native Brazil in favour of a Premier League switch.
