Arsenal are reportedly lining up a proposed January deal for Ipswich Town full-back Tyrone Mings, according to Talksport.

Mings, aged 21 has enjoyed a promising start to the Championship season with Ipswich, and has helped the Tractor boys into the play-off positions, with Town sitting in sixth in the second tier.

And following a fine start,Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has since been alerted and could make a move in the January transfer window.

The Gunners currently have a defensive injury crisis at the back, with no fewer than three players currently out injured for the North London club.

Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, and Mathieu Debuchy are all currently all out injured, which has caused Wenger somewhat a defensive headache.

Hence why he may turn to the highly-rated Mings, who has just been awarded the Championship player of the month for September, following a string of impressive performances, which have merited his monthly accolade.

Mings’ manager at Ipswich, Mick McCarthy, stated that he hopes the defender will remain at the Suffolk club, with Premier League side Crystal Palace also keen, as well as Arsenal of course.

“Tyrone has been excellent for us, McCarthy said to The Football League’s official website.

“Crystal Palace made a big offer for him before the transfer window closed but we want him here for the long term.

“He’s a young, exciting player who has made a lot of progress in his time here and it’s great to see that his form has been noticed with this award.

“We’ve acknowledged that as a club too, which is why we offered him a long term deal. He’s done great.”
