FC Barcelona star Andres Iniesta believes it is Arsenal that play the best football in the Premier League, and not Tuesday night’s opponents Manchester City.
The two European giants go head-to-head in the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday, and Iniesta has been talking about English football ahead of the glamour tie, and the Spaniard still believes it is Arsenal that play the best football.
Barca and Arsenal’s style of play is very similar and the Spanish midfielder praises Arsene Wenger for the way he gets his team to play, despite it not bringing trophies to the club.
Wenger has come under a lot of scrutiny recently and was labelled as a ‘specialist in failure’ by Jose Mourinho on Friday, but Iniesta still believes his side plays the best football.
Iniesta said: “I think Arsenal still play the best football in England. They play in a style in the way that most emulates what we do at Barcelona – and what is in our opinion the right way to approach the game.
“They may not have spent what other teams have in England – but their football philosophy is the most attractive in England.”
