Arsenal prepare bid for Norwich City star

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy.

The English shot-stopper was relegated from the Premier League this season with The Canaries, and could be interested in an immediate return to top-flight football, with The Gunners plotting a ÂŁ6m bid for his services.

Despite their relegation, Ruddy was one of Norwich’s stand-out performers throughout the season, and put on a superb display against Wenger’s men on the last day of the season, and that may have impressed the Frenchman who is currently looking for competition for Wojciech Szczesny.

Emiliano Viviano’s loan-deal has expired, while Lukasz Fabianski has left the club on a free, so that has left Wenger with just Szczesny as the recognised ‘keeper at the Emirates.

However, they have been linked with trio; David Marshall, Asmir Begovic and now Ruddy, as Wenger prepares to spend once again this Summer.

It was reported last Summer that a ÂŁ5m bid from Chelsea was rejected by Norwich for their goalkeeper, so after relegation from the top division, they may accept a ÂŁ6m bid this time around.

It’s believed Crystal Palace are also interested in the 27-year-old.
