The 18-year old is stalling on a new Chelsea deal due to his wage and first-team demands

Arsenal are plotting to make a move to sign Dominic Solanke from Chelsea, according to reports.

The youngster is considered to be a huge talent with bags of potential and the Blues are understandably desperate to keep hold of him. However, his demands mean that his current contract talks are stalling.

The wonderkid has asked for a massive ÂŁ50,000 a week to stay on at Stamford Bridge and has also asked to be given more first-team opportunities in the Premier League next summer, as he feels he can make his mark in the league.

Chelsea are unwilling to pay such a high amount in wages for him and they don’t tend to favour youngsters either. With the talks on hold, Arsenal are now ready to step in.

Gunners offer more gametime

The Gunners would also be reluctant to pay Solanke such high wages but they could promise the forward a better role in the squad than what the Blues could, with Arsene Wenger willing to give him some of the gametime in the Premier League that he wants.

The 18-year old has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea and he has spent most of his time at the Blues out on loan at Vitesse. This is due to Chelsea’s insistence on favouring ready-made players to youth and this could end up costing them Solanke’s signature.

Arsene Wenger is of course well-known for giving youngsters their chance and this could convince Solanke to make the move from Stamford Bridge to the Emirates to get the first-team action that he craves.
