Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is plotting a surprise bid for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez as he eyes further additions to the forward department.
The Gunners boss was after a striker all of last Summer, but failed to capture anyone of note which has left the club very short of options up front, especially when both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott picked up injuried that kept them out of action for around two months.
Now with Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendnter injured, Arsenal’s depth is really being tested and this may mean that Wenger might dip his hands into pockets again with another big signing in this transfer window.
Wenger was interested in a United striker in the Summer, but his attentions were on Wayne Rooney, now they have turned to under-used foward Hernandez.
It is believed that the Arsenal boss is ready to spend up to £15million on the Mexican and is hopeful that the club will sell to him, despite them being fierce rivals.
