Alexandre Lacazette’s proposed transfer to Arsenal edges closer as Gunners agree mega deal with Lyon to sign the French forward.
Arsenal are on the verge of announcing Alexandre Lacazette as their second signing of the Summer after Sead Kolasinac joined on a free from Bundesliga outfit Shalke 04. Arsenal’s initial bid for Lacazette was rejected last month with the French club believed to have rebuffed an offer around 39 million euros.
However, talks progressed very well between the two clubs last week and have not reportedly agreed a deal worth 50 million euros. This would smash Arsenal’s transfer record and surpass Mesut Ozil as the club’s most expensive transfer of their history.
The move was confirmed by Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas who told French Outlet Le Progres the deal should be completed in the next day or two. Arsene Wenger looks to have secured his prime transfer target amid rumours Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez is interested in re-joining Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
Alexander Lacazette is now expected to fly to London on Tuesday or Wednesday to undergo a medical ahead of his move before the Gunners officially announce the French striker. Lacazette scored 37 goals in all competitions last season and should add plenty of goals in this Arsenal team.
