Arsenal’s pursuit for Marseille youngster Florian Thauvin could prove to be over after the Frenchman dismissed reports linking him to the Gunners, insisting that he is content at the Stade Velodrome.

Manager Arsene Wenger has been keen on signing the youngster for some time now, with Serie A side Inter Milan also interested in the player.

But despite Marseille and Inter Milan agreeing a fee to a deal during the summer transfer window, Thauvin has reassured the press that he has no intentions on leaving the Ligue 1 club just yet.

‘The president had contact with Inter, but I don’t know exactly what happened,’ said Thauvin.

‘Things were clear for the president and me: my departure was out of the question, so honestly I haven’t studied the offer.

‘It’s flattering [interest from elsewhere]. [But] I am a Marseille player and they are a big club too. Here I feel really good.’
