Although it looks likely that Morata is to leave Juventus, his eventual destination is still open to discussion.
The young forward’s future is up in the air , with former club Real Madrid having verbally communicated their intention to exercise their €30million (£24m) buyback clause on Morata after selling him to the Italian giants two years ago.
Madrid are expected to lodge the official bid after discussions with the player’s representatives this week, but the intention was to sell on the 23-year-old for an immediate profit.
Morata open to a move:
when questioned about it, Morata told reporters that he would prefer to stay in Spain, though would be open to a move to England and the Premier League. He said: “It’s clear that [staying at Madrid] is what I’d most like.
“That’s my desire, to win things at Madrid.
“But at Madrid there are great players, and what I want is to play and to feel important.
“Next year I will play in the team that I have the most opportunities in.
“There are some offers from England that are tempting, not only because of the contract.”
Clubs in the Premier League, such as Chelsea and Manchester city are said to be interested in landing the Spanish striker, though Arsenal are looking increasingly likely to win the race to sign him- something they failed to do before Morata moved to Serie A.
“I think that for my style of play, the Premier League would be a great place to go,” he said.
“I’m not saying that I want to leave Juventus, which is a team that I can only speak well of. I’m saying that going to the Premier League wouldn’t be a backwards step.
“With what I’ve learned in Italy, if I have the chance to learn more in England I believe that it would make me a more complete player, better.
“I’m 23 years old and what I want is to progress, to play, to learn from the best and have a great career.”
