Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has held private talks with struggling midfielder Mesut Ozil, and he has reassured the German international that he is a major part of the club’s long-term vision.

Wenger splashed out in the Summer in order to sign Ozil from Real Madrid, and by doing so, he smashed the club’s transfer record which was previously just ÂŁ15million.

Costing the club ÂŁ43m, many Arsenal fans would have hoped Ozil would have been a great addition to the squad and after he settled into the Premier League quickly, it looked like he was going to be a great success.

However, with no winter break, Ozil’s recent form has dipped drastically just to fatigue and fitness issues.

Poor performances against Liverpool in the league and Bayern Munich in the Champions League has caused media and fans to get on the German’s back, but there is one man that is standing by him, and that is Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman has recently held a private chat with the German and has told him that he is vital to the club and is crucial in their long-term vision.

Wenger then went on to reassure Ozil that things will be easier for him next season once he has adapted fully to the English schedule.

The 25-year-old was then comforted by Wenger after the manager told him that his door is always open if he needs a chat about anything.

Ozil suffered a serious hamstring injury on Tuesday night and is now expected to be sidelined for at least a few weeks.
