Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger seems to be enjoying life in London once again and even cracked a joke for reporters today during his press conference ahead of Tuesday’s clash with Napoli in the Champions League.
The Gunners are sitting top of the Premier League after six-games, a whopping eight-points clear of last year’s champions Manchester United and today Wenger was asked about whether or not a former player could be returning to the side.
Robert Pires, who is a legend for Arsenal, has been training with the club for weeks now and due to Mathieu Flamini making a similar return, one reporter asked the Arsenal boss if Pires is set to make a dramatic return to action.
However, unfortunately for fans of the club, Wenger laughed those reports off and dismissed them quickly.
‘Pires is training with us and he can help the younger players – he won’t be signing as he is a 1973 birthday,’ the manager smirked.
