The lack of developments on the Frenchman’s contract at the Emirates has sparked interest from from Barcelona should they decide to part ways with Gerardo Martino at the end of the season.

The Argentine is under increasing pressure after seeing Barcelona slip four points behind arch rivals Real Madrid, following successive away defeats to Real Sociedad and Valladolid.

However, when Wenger was asked if a move to the Nou Camp would interest him, the 64-year-old said: ‘No, my commitment is always fully here and nowhere else.’

The manager’s 1,000th game at the club – against Chelsea on March 22 – will be marked with the offer of a new deal to extend Wenger’s tenure in north London.

He said: ‘No, not at all, I never would envisage that. We are in a job like you go for the next game, and try to do well in that next game. Then step by step, sometimes you get to 1,000.’

Despite winning three Premier League titles and four FA Cups, Arsenal have not claimed any silverware since 2005 when they beat Manchester United on penalties in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Arsenal are still involved in the Premier League title chase and are favourites to lift the FA Cup after setting up a semi-final date with Wigan.
