Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the club are not interested in signing Juan Fernando Quintero from FC Porto, amid reports suggesting a £15.8million deal is in place.
Reports broke yesterday suggesting the Colombian international was on his way to London in order to finalise a deal to the Emirates Stadium, but talking ahead of this weekend’s Emirates Cup, Wenger has dismissed the reports, claiming they are wrong.
The Gunners have already captured four new signings this Summer and are still in the market for a striker and a holding-midfielder, but Wenger has confirmed that Quintero will not be joining this Summer.
It was believed Quintero would join in a £15.8m deal which could have seen Santi Cazorla leave the club for Atletico Madrid, but the Spanish champions also confirmed today that they are not interested in the Spaniard.
