Spanish side Atletico Madrid are already listing potential replacement for Diego Costa as talks of him moving to Premier League side Chelsea are hotting up, and according to reports, Diego Simeone is interested in signing Arsenal frontman Olivier Giroud.
The Frenchman, who has netted 20-times in all competitions so far this season, is a hit-and-miss type figure within Arsenal Football Club, with a lot of fans unimpressed by his performances since moving from Montpellier last Summer.
Giroud, who was seen as Robin Van Persie’s replacement, has managed to knock-up successful goal-tallies during his time in England, but a lot of fans still aren’t taken by his overal contribution to the team.
As for Madrid, they are clearly planning life after Costa as it seems a move to Chelsea is all-but concluded, and with that in mind, they want to move quickly in the Summer to ensure they sign a suitable replacement.
Giroud is on their wishlist as well as; Tottenham Hotspur forward Roberto Soldado, Queens Park Rangers’ Loic Remy, and Chelsea’s Fernando Torres.
Despite having a tough time off the pitch recently, Giroud has recently expressed his desire to remain at the Emirates Stadium, but if a formal bid was made from Madrid, Arsene Wenger may look to cash-in on the inconsistent forward.
