Chelsea’s versatile Cesar Azpilicueta is to be rewarded with a new long-term contract after his impressive performances this season, The Sunday Mirror reports.
The 24 year-old defender is expected to sign on the dotted line before the World Cup starts this summer. He has impressed the Chelsea faithful this year after a string of majestic performances where he has shown to adapt to Premier League life with ease. The defender has also shown his capabilities in most areas of the defence and has kept England left-back Ashley Cole out of the starting eleven most weeks, with Cole even praising Cesar himself.
Azpilicueta has made 26 appearances for Chelsea this season, and it looks like there will be many more to come in the future.
