Mourinho took a passive-aggressive jab toward former Chelsea man Oscar in a pre-match conference yesterday ahead of United’s clash with Sunderland.
Mourinho voiced many strong opinions. Of this was his admiration for the Swedish hero, Ibrahimovic and interestingly, a jab at players who go to the MLS or China
Whilst discussing Zlatan, the Portuguese coach responded,
‘ He (Ibrahimovic) will end his career in a high which is amazing. He is not ending his career in America or China. He is ending his career in the tops of the tops. ‘
With the former Chelsea man Oscar making a switch to the Chinese Super League, Mourinho evidently makes a strong and clear statement. There is no dignity in heading to China.
This statement comes after a series of press conferences where Jose points a finger at his Chelsea successor Conte, labelling his football “safe” and “boring”.
There is obviously bad blood remaining between Mourinho and his former players whom he famously had a falling out with last season before being sacked. His pride would be damaged by the fact the Blues are comfortably first after breaking the 12 straight winning streak that Mourinho failed to overcome in his tenure.
Talk about a bad breakup.
