Martin Montoya, the Barcelona defender, appears set to leave the Spanish club next month after being frozen out under Luis Enrique, with his last first-team appearance coming on September 13.
Reports had suggested Brendan Rodgers was keen to bring the 23-year-old to Anfield but Corriere dello Sport claim Juventus have agreed a deal to bring Montoya to Turin next month. Rodgers is desperate for defensive reinforcements after the Red’s faltering start to the season, but this latest news suggests he will have to look elsewhere.
