Defender claiming United will stay focused

Daley Blind is delighted with Manchester United’s progression into the FA Cup semi-final but has vowed that the team will be remaining focused.

The Red Devils beat West Ham United on Wednesday to progress through to the semi-final at the last ever FA Cup game at Upton Park. It’s the first time United have reached the final 4 of the competition, which has slightly relieved the pressure currently on manager Louis van Gaal.

Blind, who has played in every FA Cup fixture so far, is looking forward to possibly lifting his first silverware at the club in 2014.

He said: “It’s a special place. I’m really looking forward to playing there. It’s an FA Cup semi-final, a big game, and we will go there to win.

“Of course, we’re not there yet. It’s just the semi-final. We want to reach the final. We’re close but we’ll do things step by step. Hopefully we can get there.

“Every game is very important now. We have to look at all of them as finals because they’re all important. That’s why we take things game by game and don’t look too far forward.”
