Stoke City are set to sign Barcelona forward Bojan on loan.
The 21 year old is still on the books at Barcelona, however he has slipped down the pecking order in recent years, and has been given the go ahead to sign for Stoke.
Chairman Peter Coates confirmed that manager Mark Hughes met with the player, to tie up a proposed deal.
‘Mark has met with the player and we’re quietly confident of getting it all completed soon,’ said Coates, speaking to the Daily Mail.
‘Attacking players have been very much the focus for Mark since the end of last season and obviously Bojan would be another very good addition.’
Bojan, who was once compared to Lionel Messi, spent last season at Dutch club Ajax, scoring four goals in 24 games.
He has spent loan spells at Serie A club AC Milan and Roma in previous years.
