Chelsea and Manchester City both turned down by Serie A side

Premier League duo Chelsea and Manchester City have seen their approaches for Bologna starlet Amadou Diawara turned down by the Serie A outfit.

The two English giants have been showing interest in Diawara for the past few months, and both were plotting formal moves for the January transfer window.

The 18-year-old is now a regular for Bologna, making 15 starts in his debut season, and his consistent performances have caught the eye of the Premier League duo.

Two Formal Bids

According to reports in Italy, both City and Chelsea have launched formal bids to sign the teenager already, with the duo both lodging bids worth around £14.5million.

However, Bologna have snubbed both approaches from the English sides insisting that they are keen to keep hold of the midfielder.

With interest high in England, officials at Bologna are desperate to get the youngster to sign a new long-term contract keeping him at the club for the foreseeable future.
