Borussia Dortmund would immediately move for a replacement if Jadon Sancho gets sold this summer, Sporting Director, Michael Zorc confirmed.
Premier League clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are hot on Dortmund’s heels for their prized 19-year-old playmaker.
In his two years at Dortmund, Sancho has carved out a huge role for himself in the first team. His absence will greatly affect BVB’s attacking lineup and signing a replacement would be imperative to the club’s success. Zorc told Kicker, “If Jadon leaves, we would like to sign a new offensive player. There are certainly one or two players that we are keeping an eye on.”
Selling Sancho will, no doubt, bring in a huge amount of cash, anywhere north of £120 million, according to reports. He is one of the best young talents out there and would greatly improve any team he moves to.
Dortmund CEO, Hans Joachim Watzke added that signing a replacement for the teenager will be tricky in the current circumstances. He said, “If we give up Sancho, every player we are interested in will cost five to ten million euros more than the week before. We have nothing to give away. When you don’t have a state or a multi-billionaire behind you, you need to be a little more careful at the moment. Without an end date for corona, we do not have any planning security.”
