Crystal Palace boss has confirmed both Wilfried Zaha and James Tomkins have returned to training prior to the clash against Huddersfield Town. However, a final assessment will be done on Friday to check whether they are in playing condition or not.
Zaha’s influence in this Palace team cannot be ignored as the forward has had a huge impact in the last couple of seasons. Zaha’s effect can be explained as the Eagles have lost ten matches since last season whenever the former Manchester United player failed to make it to the starting lineup.
Zaha’s availability could be a big respite for the Londoners who are currently struggling in the 15th place. A single win in the opening four games has left them reeling in the bottom half of the table and Zaha could lift the morale of the entire side.
On being asked about Zaha’s fitness the former England boss answered, “It was his first training session today.
“It was debatable whether he should train or not, but he was anxious to try, and the same applied to James Tomkins, and it was good to see them back out with us again.
“But we will have to wait until tomorrow to see how they react to that and see if they will be able to play, because both if we listen to our medical department are coming back early, if not as early as should have been expected.”
