Blues striker Diego Costa will miss out on Spain’s next two matches against Macedonia and England due to a thigh injury.
The 28-year-old was unable to take part in Spain’s training this week and now he is battling to regain fitness.
The Spanish Football Federation officially announced on Thursday that he had been replaced by former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas in the squad.
Aspas has scored seven goals in all competitions for Celta Vigo this season.
