Liverpool stand to make money back on striker
Liverpool have reportedly accepted Crystal Palace’s £32million offer for striker Christian Benteke.
Liverpool paid Aston Villa £32.5m for Benteke a year ago and have been holding out for a similar fee despite the player falling out of favour after the arrival of Jurgen Klopp in October.
The Reds manager said earlier this month “it makes sense” for Benteke to move on, and Palace are prepared to pay an initial £27m plus £5m in add-ons. The Liverpool manager also openly admitted that having 6 senior strikers in his squad was too many, and so hinted that he would be moving some players on.
