Former-Real Madrid manager distances himself from job

Carlo Ancelotti has moved quickly to distance himself from the vacant Liverpool job after Brendan Rodgers was sacked last night.

The Italian is believed to be one of Liverpool‘s main targets to replace Rodgers, but he has already seemingly said no to the job after admitting he’s not interested.

It’s believed officials at Anfield will now turn to Jurgen Klopp, who has always been their top-target after he left Borussia Dortmund, and with the German ready to return to football, it’s a deal that could be done.

No Contact for Ancelotti

Ancelotti was pushed in an interview to discuss the vacant Liverpool job, and he confirmed that he’s had no contact with the club amid the managerial post.

Ancelotti told Express Sport: “I have not had any offer from Liverpool.”

After leaving the Bernabeu over the summer, Ancelotti confirmed that he wanted at least 12-months away from football, while Klopp is ready to end his sabbatical for a Premier League side.
