Jamie Carragher has branded Liverpool as ‘mentally and physically weak’ after the side suffered their 5th defeat of the season and slipped to 12th place in the league. Carragher was speaking as a pundit after his former sides defeat at Selhurst Park.
Three strikes from Dwight Gayle, Joe Ledley and Mile Jedinak were enough to cancel out Lambert’s early opener.
Carragher accused Liverpool of being ‘bullied’ by Palace – the same team that all but ended Liverpools title hopes last season after a dramatic 3-3 draw.
“They are still mentally weak. There is no leadership on the pitch.”
He added: “As a Liverpool fan, the worst thing that you can ever throw at your own team or think of them is that they’re getting bullied and are weak. And that’s what we’ve seen today.”
