Cavani thinks partnership needs improvement

When Paris Saint-Germain wrapped up the deal with Napoli over Serie A top scorer, Edinson Cavani, PSG supporters all over the world were full of excitement since they now had two of the best strikers in their team.

But thus far it hasn’t really worked out, and Cavani who in the latest league game versus Toulouse scored the final 2-0 goal admits that the duo haven’t been able to “click”.

“I think we need to work on it a bit more. We haven’t played together for a long time and we didn’t have an entire pre-season together”, he says to BeIN Sport.

“I think that we have shown a understanding for eachother, but we have to prepare better to reach better results.”

Edinson Cavani has also had to take a bit of a nudge from new coach Laurent Blanc to make space for Ibra in the middle in a 4-3-3 formation. Cavani has had to accept being moved out to the right flank.

Cavani says that he’s ok, and that he will do what’s best for the team, “He (Blanc) has asked me to play on the side, but to also sweep inside when Zlatan drops down.”

Well for now Cavani seems to be able to put up with being second choice for the starting striker position, but for how much longer?
