Blues ready to rival Manchester United for Senegalese forward
Chelsea have entered the race to sign Southampton attack Sadio Mane, according to reports.
The Senegal international has been in fire form for the Saints since arriving in the Premier League, and his performances last season caught the eyes of United throughout the summer.
However, Louis van Gaal‘s interest never turned into a formal bid and Mane remained at St Marys.
So far this season, Mane has scored six goals, including a goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier on in the season.
Ronald Koeman‘s men beat the Blues 3-1 at the Bridge, and Mane played an influential role during the victory which left officials from Chelsea impressed.
United and Chelsea Interest
Both United and Chelsea are looking to add goals to their teams, with the Red Devils worried about Anthony Martial‘s injury and Wayne Rooney‘s form, while Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy aren’t cutting it for Jose Mourinho.
Mane agreed a four-year deal last year after arriving for £11.8million from Red Bull Salzburg, and according to reports, officials from the club want him to sign a new and improved deal to fend off interest.
