The Blues are hoping to try and sign the Schalke man on a free in the summer
Chelsea are set to battle Juventus to sign Sead Kolasinac in the summer.
According to reports today, the player could be available on a free transfer in the summer and both the Blues and Juve are desperate to sign him up when the season comes to a close.
Schalke – his current club – have been hoping to tie him down to a new, longer deal at the club with his current contract set to expire in the summer.
Schalke hopeful of new deal
They’re even willing to up his wages but the player is believed to be interested in a move elsewhere and it means he could run his contract down and then leave for nothing at the season’s end.
Schalke have already rejected bids from several clubs for his signature, with Chelsea being one of them. Antonio Conte reportedly offered the Bundesliga side £5.3m for his services only for the bid to be rejected.
Schalke remain hopeful that they can get Kolasinac to agree a new contract with them but if they can’t, then the player will run down his contract and be available on a free this summer – and Chelsea and Juve are ready to snap him when he does become a free agent.
