Chelsea are hopeful that they can wrap up the deal for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa before the start of the World Cup.

With just over a week left until the Summer tournament kicks off, Jose Mourinho and co. are keen on formally announcing the deal for the Spaniard and they are hopeful that he can be fit enough to complete a medical before flying to Brazil.

Costa, who only lasted 10-minutes in the Champions League final, was scheduled to have a medical in London straight after the season ending, but due to his hamstring injury, the Premier League side had to delay the procedure, but they are not hopeful that they can do it within the week.

The deal is expected to be worth ÂŁ32million, and The Blues are hopeful of announcing it officially at the end of the week, despite the striker confirming the move on his instagram a few weeks ago.

This Summer is expected to be a busy one for Chelsea, and as four players have already left the club, more are expected to arrive in the coming months.
