Chelsea have reportedly identified Ryan Bertrand as an alternative to Juventus defender Alex Sandro.
According to the Evening Standard, The Blues may make a move for Bertrand if a deal to sign Sandro falls through.
Chelsea are currently in talks to sign Sandro, with Juventus valuing the left-back at £70m – which would break the Premier League champions’ transfer record.
A deal to sign Bertrand would work out to be cheaper, however, reports indicate that Southampton will demand £40m for the England international.
Other reports claim, Chelsea will apparently try and tempt Juventus into giving up Alex Sandro by offering cash plus Cesar Azpilicueta if the €60m alone won’t convince them.
Antonio Conte is said to be very determined to sign up the left-back from the Turin giants, but the Bianconeri said they won’t sell unless he asks to go.
However, La Gazzetta dello Sport are claiming the Blues increased their €60m offer to €70m in order to convince Juve into a sale.
