Chelsea are plotting a huge £50m bid for Ross Barkley next summer, after Man City decided not to withdraw their interest in him. It was reported last week that Manuel Pellegrini was preparing to make a fresh bid for the Everton man, worth about £35m.
But the Toffee’s have claimed that he is not for sale and that he would be worth at least £50m. With that news, City have decided to pull out of the running for the midfielder, after deciding that he is too big of a risk at £50m.
It’s left Chelsea in pole position to sign Barkley and the Blues are reportedly willing to pay all of the £50m asking price for the England international. The two clubs also have a good relationship due to the previous transfers of Romelu Lukaku and the loan of Christian Atsu.
It could be too good of an offer to turn down for Roberto Martinez and, if so, we could see Barkley lining up in Chelsea colours next season.
