Chelsea star reveals nasty injury on Instagram after Swansea win
Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger was the match winner against Swansea City on Wednesday night, but it came at a cost as the German international suffered a nasty injury in the win.
His second half goal means that the Blues keep in touch in the top three, and although they still trail leaders Manchester City by 11 points, their good form continues with 7 wins from their last 9 matches.
However, 24 year-old Rudiger was on the receiving end of a nasty challenge during the match that saw a hole ripped through his boot and sock. Somehow he managed to play through it and finish the match.
The former Roma and Stuttgart defender took to Instagram after the match to reveal the extent of the injury.

Rudiger tagged his sponsor Nike in the post, and may be after some thicker boots in the future as these clearly didn’t offer him enough protection.
Luckily for Chelsea, it doesn’t look like the injury will sideline the German at all. He is in good form at the moment, which is just as well given that David Luiz was again left out of the squad last night.
Luiz had a high profile fall out with Antonio Conte following the Blues’ loss to Roma last month, and could be on his way out of the club in the January transfer window.
