Nikola Maksimovic a target for Antonio Conte
Antonio Conte is ready to launch a move for Torino defender Nikola Maksimovic, according to reports.
Maksimovic is reportedly an alternative to long-term target for Chelsea, Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, as the Blues are now considering switching their attentions to the Torino defender.
The 24-year-old Maksimovic went AWOL from training at Torino last weekend as he tried to push through a move.
He is due to return on Monday but is still desperate to leave.
Chelsea have been negotiating with Napoli for Koulibaly, who is rated at over £40million, with Maksimovic lined up as his replacement by Napoli.
However, with patience running low and Napoli haggling with Torino, Chelsea are weighing up a £20m bid for Maksimovic instead. The Serb is well known by Antonio Conte and has been on their list of options.
