Defender wanted by German side
Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma is wanted on loan by German side FC Schalke.
The 21-year-old is currently working up his fitness after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament playing against Manchester United earlier in the year.
Blues coach Antonio Conte is short of centre-backs in his squad, but recognises the young French powerhouse needs games to rediscover his match sharpness.
Schalke want to take him on a season-long loan, and Chelsea don’t have long to think about it, with the transfer window closing on Wednesday evening.
Chelsea held also talks with Real Madrid over a potential deal for James Rodriguez on Friday but have been unable to reach an agreement so far.
Madrid want to sell the Colombian but Chelsea have discussed an initial loan, based on the fact Rodriguez has been low down on the pecking order at the Bernabau in the recent months.
