Leicester city manager Claude Puel is confident to cope up without the suspended Jamie Vardy when they face Southampton at St Mary’s. The English international is serving a three match ban following his straight red in the last match against Wolves in the Premier League.

The Foxes do have a very enthralling attacking lineup and one of Kelechi Iheanacho, Demarai Gray and Shinji Okazaki is in the line to replace Vardy up front.

Gray has shown flashes of brilliance while Iheanacho is yet to produce a match winning display since his arrival from Manchester City. It could be a golden chance for both of them to impress the gaffer who also has Japanese forward Okazaki at his disposal.

Puel feels he has enough ammunition in his hands to deal with the absence of Vardy against his former employer. “We know Jamie’s quality but we have to move on and make good confidence for the other players.

“It is a good chance for players like Iheanacho, Gray or Okazaki, if he can come back.

“In the future, Demarai has all the attributes to play up front because he is fast, he likes to play with James (Maddison), they are friends.”
