Crystal Palace attracts Romanian manager

Dan Petrescu wants the managerial spot at Crystal Palace. Petrescu has been in talks with the chairman with the manager position but may have to accept a lower wage than he expected.

Petrescu’s agent said: “It’s very important for Dan to take over at Palace. He wants that to happen and I think it will.”

Parish the Crystal Palace chairman wanted to anounce the new manager on saturday however it will probably be anounced midweek. The Premier League side want a new manager to be in charge for their upcoming game against Hull City but if not they’re fine with caretake Keith Millen taking charge temporarily.

The Premier League side have been without a manager for nearly a month now. Although the Romanian has shown interest in the position Iain Dowie remains the favourite to take the spot. The chairman has defended the fact that the club has been without a manager for a long time because they want the right person and feel that the current Dinamo Moscow manager is the man for the job.

Petrescu’s playing career involved 95 caps for Romania including a goal against England in the 1998 World Cup. He has 10 years of managerial experience at multiple countries including Romania, Poland & Russia at Rapid Bucharest, Wisla Krakow, Unirea Urziceni & Kuban Krasnodar.
